A number of patrols have existed through the years.  The following list is far from complete and the dates should be considered as approximate only - some of them depend upon memories of over fifty years!  The large amount of information on the Seagull Patrol is a consequence of the allegiances of the author of this web site. The Badger Patrol

The Badgers were probably the last Patrol to make a new appearance on the scene. They were formed in 1966 but made rapid progress and won the Patrol Shield in 1967.

The Eagles were a new patrol in August  1924 and were one of the three still in existence when the Group closed in 1979. They won the Patrol Shield in 1968 under the leadership of Tony Wilson.

The Panthers existed in 1949, when they won the Patrol Shield, PL G Hamilton, Second T Kerr. They were later reinstated in the 1970s



The Peewit Patrol

The Peewits existed in 1937, when they were joined by Douglas Figg (see reminiscences). The P.L. was the brother of a set of twins that were also in the Troop.

The Seagulls were probably one of the original patrols. They were certainly in existence in 1916 (see reminiscences) and one of their first Patrol Leaders was  A J Terry, Canon Terry's son.  They may have lapsed briefly between 1924 to 1925 and after a brief re-appearance in 1925 were off the scene until the 1950s. The Seagulls won the Patrol Shield in 1918, 1959, 1962, 1965 and 1966 and spawned no less than three Scout Leaders and three Assistant Scout Leaders - Quentin Jackson, Thomas Gough and Alan Fyfe; Barclay Fraser, Douglas Wright and Crispin Heath. The patrol ceased to be in June 1969 until it was reinstated by Jeremy Lee in 1974.



The Snipe Patrol

The Snipes were part of the 'second Troop' in 1958 when the Troop was split. They were still around in 1963 when the Group was in its heyday and were eventually disbanded in 1965 at the same time as the Falcons.

The Tigers appear to have been one of the original patrols and won the Patrol Shield in 1921 and then for three years running, 1926 to 1928. They won again in 1947 and 1950 The patrol must have disbanded at some time in the 1950s to 1960s but was reinstated in 1975 and was one of the three still in existence when the Group closed in 1979.



The Wolf Patrol
The Wolves appear to have been one of the original patrols and were on the go in 1917 or thereabouts
 



The Woodpigeon Patrol
